Prof. Imad About is one of the main academic members involved in Biodentine development and evaluation since 1999.

Curriculum:
Prof. Imad About obtained a Master’s Degree of Biochemistry in 1987 and a PhD of Biochemistry in 1992 from the University of Aix-Marseille III, Marseille, France.
After a post doctorate at the National institute of health and medical research, Marseille, France, he joined the university “la Méditerranée” as assistant professor at the faculty of dentistry of Marseille in 1996, and became associate professor in 2000
Prof. Imad About was appointed Professor of Oral Biology in 2002.

Director of the IMEB Research Laboratory (Interface Matrice Extracellulaire-Biomatériaux) Faculté d’Odontologie, Université de la Méditerranée, Marseille, France is his current position.

Research interests:

• Investigation of the role of stem cells in dentin regeneration
• Early steps of pulp healing
• Better understanding of the effects of biomaterials on these two events

Prof. Imad About acts as a national and international expert in research projects evaluation and funding.

Publishing & Lecturing activities:

• Member of the Editorial Board of leading reviews in the dental fields
• Frequently involved in reviewing research publications for 15 leading specialized reviews in the dental scientific and medical fields: Stem Cells, Journal of Dental Research, Cell and Tissue Research, Biomaterials, Cells and Materials Journal, Acta Biomaterials, Clinical Oral Investigation, International Endodontic Journal, Stem Cell Research & Therapy…
• Member of the scientific committee of the faculty of Odontology and member of the Université de la Méditerranée Committee of technology transfer from the research laboratories to the industrial application.
