Chairmain Scientific Committee Letter

Dear Colleagues,

The progress in Endodontics is permanent, and its major goal is to clean and pack the canal system properly in order to conserve the tooth functional, in a healthy periodontium.
Our Congress entitled “Striving for Excellence” aims to spotlight on the last advances in most fields of Endodontics, that optimise the quality of treatment in a relatively short woking time.

A large group of renowned international speakers will give us the opportunity to go deeply into the details of the current advancements. They will cover the major following topics:

1. The actual biological research techniques concerning biofilm and its role in canal infection, and how to remove it with an efficient antimicrobial during root canal therapy.
   
   
2. The role of irrigants and irrigation techniques in cleaning canal system in vital and necrotic teeth therapy as well as in retreatment.
   
   
3. The use of new M-Wire shaping instruments with a specific design allowing a smooth preparation of the curvature with less cyclic fatigue and no screwing effect.
   
   
4. Obturation of canal system; is the single cone in return?
   
   
5. Digital imaging, especially CBCT and its impact on our ability to 3-dimensionally diagnose and treat complex root canal systems.
   
   
6. Laser: disinfecting or sterilising the canal space? Is it a must in root canal treatment?
   
   
7. Stem cells and pulp regeneration therapy that is currently in a period of evolutionary advancement.
   
   
8. Implant vs Endo dilemma; when to extract and fix a single implant and how to do it?

The multinational and local speakers as well as the young endodontists will enrich the conference with their clinical experience in the different fields of root canal treatment, through oral presentations and posters. Participants can attend workshops concerning new shaping instruments, ultrasonics, microscopes, laser in Endodontics; they will also assist to live transmissions about root canal treatment, classic and retreatment, and placement of single implant.
